Animal Testing
Animal Testing and By-Products:
Maria Garcia International opposes animal testing and ensures caring consumers that we are committed to manufacturing with compassion. We understand and respect animal rights and are committed to the “beauty without cruelty” philosophy.
The company does not perform animal testing on finished products in any phase of product development by itself, its laboratories or suppliers. Instead all our products are tested in vitro and on human volunteers. Our rule during each products development within the company’s range products is that it is to be extensively tested on human volunteers.
We also do not use the services of any outside contractors to conduct animal testing on our behalf, either on a product or any product ingredient.
Furthermore, since the birth of our company we have operated a strict policy never to purchase products or ingredients from suppliers or intermediary agents who – to our knowledge- have conducted, commissioned or been party to animal testing for cosmetics.
When we use a new raw material in any of our products for the first time we require our suppliers to certify that these raw materials have not been tested on animals at any time after 1 January 1998 either by the suppliers themselves, by any company associated with them or on their behalf.
Our raw materials have to conform to high standards of quality, which together with strict quality controls, ensures a very high level of safety and quality of our preparations. We are proud to say that we have all our Dossiers in place and approved in accordance with the internationally recognised EU Compliance.
MG Labs & Maria Garcia International uses animal by-products such as lanolin, honey and beeswax, including vegetable oil in our soaps. These by-products are extracted in compliance with International Standards and Procedures for obtaining the healthy use of animal by-products.
